Coach Dan McDonnell uses live practice footage to bring you inside one of the best programs in the country. In part one you get a first hand account of how the strength coach Zach Farrel gets the baseball team ready for the season. You'll get a front-row seat and see live training sessions and lifts from the players in the Louisville baseball program. Listen in as Louisville's Assistant Sports Performance Coach, Zach Farrel, gives his advice and corrections to the players to make sure they are doing the lift the right way.
After the training session, Coach McDonnell comes back to help guide his program in the pre-practice meeting. McDonnell talks about the practice plan for the day and for the week.
The team then moves into some individual drills. They focus on live bunt coverage's and team drills. The practice moves to pitcher fielding practice, competitive rundown drills, and base running drills. This DVD also allows you to see live batting practice drills.
Disc 2
Coach McDonnell starts with the three-part stretching series to make sure his players are working stability and mobility of their joints. Coach Farrel comes back to show the details involved in creating a warmed and ready body for practice and competition.
After stretching, the pitchers start to work their PFP drills, with Coach McDonnell guiding you through different coaching points for each drill. There are a number of different PFP drills on display that cover ground balls around the entire infield, comebackers, pick offs, and more.
Coach McDonnell tries to keep his players competing as much as possible during practice. Everyday there is a team competition drill in order to instill that competitive mind set. Batting practice, defensive practice, or pitching practice there are always ways to compete. It also teaches the guys how to win and lose and keep competing.
The practice ends with a controled scrimmage, with different aspects of the game emphasized.
Any coach can use this DVD to get better. If there is one thing that you can take away from these practices and use in your own program . it is worth the investment.
